After researching the demographics in my local community along with the current services provided for those with food insecurities, it is clear that more awareness and visibility is necessary to ensure that anyone in need of food, has reasonable access to it. Similar to the limitations that some residents in my local community experience, such as those that are homebound, elderly, and experiencing poverty, there are varying levels of digital media skills or access to such. With the diverse population in mind, the solution must reach people from many angles and cultures so that more visibility is brought to the existence of the valuable resource that which is a food pantry. In keeping with the current branding and marketing materials utilized by the food pantry, the application within this website, the presentation materials, and the solutions itself incorporate blue and green colors, fonts, and special characters. The solution can be streamlined into the operations of the food pantry to immediately have a positive impact through countless new opportunities to connect with more community members. A tangible card was created, with relevant information about the food pantry that includes a QR code which directs community members to the food pantry website. This solution is inclusive and accommodates all those with either limited or no access to reliable technology as well as community members that prefer an online experience to accessing information. In an attempt to, at minimum reduce and, hopefully irradicate food insecurities in my local community.
